Referrals

Referrals

When a referral is received the following is taken into consideration:

  •  Assessment of Locality Report
  •  Assessment of Risk of harm towards others
  •  Assessment of Vulnerability
  •  Assessment of Emotional Coping Strategies
  •  Assessment of Educational Needs
  •  Assessment of Independent Living Skills to be developed
  •  Assessment of young persons ability to mix with current group
  •  Assessment of Vulnerability
  •  Assessment of Vulnerability
  •  Assessment of Vulnerability

After initial assessments are done a decision is made in regards to our ability to accept the referral. We do prefer where possible, that the young person is involved in the referral process and is always invited to view the accommodation and meet face-to-face with staff and other young people. This allows us to get to know each other and further assess our ability to support them.

Young people are encouraged to slowly take responsibility for their lives and build on their independence and living skills. In cases where learning difficulties, behavioural issues, mental health and other issues are a factor we work with other professional agencies to help our young people address and tackle any issues
